Welcome to our All Star monthly blog hop for the Splendid Autumn Suite! We are excited to share even MORE ideas than what we are offering in our exclusive Video Class Bundle this month.
After creating my exclusive sample projects for the Video Class, I didn’t want to waste the remaining six pieces of the 6×6 sheets of designer paper. So I designed this tiled card layout. I also used the Gold Foil leftover, too!
Now I can’t reveal the exclusive project to you, but if you are going to earn or purchase this video class bundle, just know that with this card design, you won’t have to throw away all that beautiful paper. You can also create a tiled card similar to this by just cutting a 3-1/4″ wide section of this paper and uing the other 2-3/4″ section on either end for something else.
A few hours ago I shared live on YouTube and on Facebook step-by-step directions for creating yet a third version of this card with this same suite and other Stampin’ Up! products shown below in my products list. And now I’m sharing that video here in my blog post. I have a new style fun fold card to share with you. I’m calling it the BTW fold which stood for “By The Way” when I originally created it. But BTW could also stand for “Big T W.” And you’ll see why.
I shared this fun fold card during my team event last week and decided to share it with all of you today in the same way — through Mystery Stamping! If you’ve never seen a mystery stamping presentation before, it’s a lot of fun. You create with the supplies in your craft room by following a series of step-by-step clues that are put before you.
So go into your crafting space, play the video below (or click HERE if you do not see the video), and follow my “clues” to try to create something similar to what I’ve already created. I’m assuming if you are scrolling down that you have watched the video. Wasn’t that fun?! I shared three finished card samples in the video. But below is one more.
By the way…the supply list at the end of this post includes some of the main products featured in the cards. These items are linked to where you can find them in my online store. I didn’t list adhesives and tools like I usually do.
Here are the clues I shared in the video (with a “sprinkle of metric measurements” within).
Clue #1: This will be a portrait style card with the initial opening at the bottom. Materials to gather…
Designer Paper that is like artwork you might want to frame on one side and a non-directional subtle pattern on the other side
11″ (29.6 cm) high x 12″ (30.5 cm) wide
Light neutral cardstock (white, vanilla, beige…)
2-1/2″ x 4-1/2″ (6.3 cm x 12.4 cm)
3-1/4″ x 4-1/2″ (8.1 cm x 12.4 cm)
Darker cardstock that stands out against both sides of the designer paper
2-3/4″ x 4-3/4″ (6.9 cm x 13 cm)
3-1/2″ x 4-3/4″ (8.7 cm x 13 cm)
(Optional) Another coordinating cardstock (a foil or accent color)
2-5/8″ x 4-5/8″ (6.6 cm x 12.7 cm)
3-3/8″ x 4-5/8″ (8.4 cm x 12.7 cm)
Trimmer w/scoring blade or Simply Scored Tool
Bone Folder
Adhesives
Stamps & Ink
Dies/Machine &/or punches
Embellishments of any kind
Clue #2: Start with your DSP (11″ high x 12″ wide). Score in from each side at 1-3/4” (4.5 cm) and 3-7/8” (10 cm) to get four vertical score lines total. When looking at your DSP with the “artwork” side facing you, let’s call these score lines A, B, C, and D from left to right. Score horizontally half-way at 5-1/2” (14.8 cm). This is now score line E.
Clue #3: Using a Bone Folder to make strong creases…Valley fold at line B, and mountain fold at line A. This should create a z-fold look on the left. Valley fold at line C, and mountain fold at line D. This should create a z-fold look on the right. When these four score lines are folded, your DSP should measure 4-1/4” x 11”.
Clue #4: Using a Bone Folder to make strong creases…Now valley fold at line E. Your DSP should now measure 4-1/4” x 5-1/2” (10.5 cm x 14.8 cm) in its completed folded state.
Clue #5: Position the opening of the card at the bottom and add layers. Add the 3-1/2″ x 4-3/4″ darker cardstock layer to the front so it’s centered. Add the optional 3-3/8” x 4-5/8” layer. Add the 3-1/4” x 4-1/2” light neutral cardstock layer on top. You may want to stamp, emboss, etc. first before adding this layer. You could even use the extra 1” (.9 cm) strip of DSP to decorate this top layer.
Clue #6: Unfold at score line E but leave the other folds alone so the base now measures 4-1/4” x 11”. Keep in portrait position and add the other layers on the lower half section. Add the 2-3/4″ x 4-3/4″ darker cardstock layer centered so that the adhesive is only under the right half. (We want to be able to still unfold the DSP all the way.) Add the optional 2-5/8″ x 4-5/8” layer. Add the 2-1/2” x 4-1/2” light neutral cardstock layer on top. You may want to stamp, emboss, etc. first before adding this layer. You could even use the extra 1” strip of DSP to decorate this top layer.
Clue #7: Finish adding any sentiments/images, punched out die-cut pieces, inks, accents, ribbons, embellishments, etc. to complete.
And this is my fourth version of this card. The gold curly threads are from a strand of disassembled Gold Trim. I curled them by running my fingernail across them.
I colored the birds, berries and branches with the Night of Navy and Wild Wheat inks and a Blender Pen. I also accented with a bit of Wink of Stella. But that is hard to see in this photo.
I absolutely LOVE the Gold Mercury Vellum layers peeking out! It’s just the right amount of shine AND adds a bit of interest.

Summer is my favorite season. And I’m sad to see the warm weather going away. So with my mind on the activities of a hot August afternoon at the lake, I put together a dragonfly birthday card using summer colors and images.
Then I made multiples of this card to send to those in my Stampers With ART group with September and October birthdays. I tend to make fall cards for Autumn birthdays. But I don’t think anyone will mind getting a little glimmering dragonfly card this year instead.
I just showed live on YouTube and on Facebook about an hour ago step-by-step directions for creating this card with the Happiest Day Stamp Set, the So Swirly 3D Embossing Folder, inks with Blending Brushes and Daubers, the Modern Oval Punch, Festive Glimmer Paper, Stampin’ Blends Markers, Wink of Stella, and other coordinating products from Stampin’ Up!®. And now I’m sharing that video here in my blog post. I have my first set of alternate Paper Pumpkin projects ready to share! And though I adore these kits and am always energized to create with them, I had an extra little excitement when creating with this September 2024 Autumn Abundance kit because of a new creative collaboration I am now a part of. (Scroll down to read more about this.) In fact, my kit arrived Wednesday, and I’ve already come up with nine projects – five of which I am sharing today.
Here are the consumable supplies (minus the stamp set and ink) that come with this kit.
This kit has enough supplies to make nine cards – three of these three different kinds. (Do you want to make the cards as intended? Click here for a link to Stampin’ Up!’s how-to video.)
But I never assemble my kits as is, because I like to show kit recipients other ways to use their supplies. I like to think outside the box…see what else I can come up with, and create alternate cards, scrapbook pages and more. So today I’m sharing with you four different cards (all fun folds) and a scrapbook page layout that I created.

It’s Free Shipping Day! (Scroll down for details.) I’m loving our new line of initial scrapbooking products that Stampin’ Up! just released September 4th. I purchased the Halloween Memories Workshop Kit, the Halloween Spells Designer Paper/Sticker Sheet, and the coordinating pack of Halloween Memories Two-Tone Cardstock. And I created some cards. Yep, cards. No pages yet. I wanted to share with all of you card-makers that these kits aren’t just for scrapbooking. (Plus I needed to make some Halloween cards to send to my family this year.)
I needed a few more sentiment images, so I added stamped imagery from the Simply Said Stamp Set and created eight festive greeting cards to share with you today.
Though the sticker sheets are the same in the workshop kit and designer paper/sticker packet, the designer papers are not. So I’m going to show you variations on two of these cards to show you the options if you just have the kit.

Today’s card is featuring the Citrus Blooms leafy frame die, but in a different configuration. It’s also a card with a vellum base layer…SOOOo fun!
I put together my card base first so it was ready. I cut my vellum to 4-1/4″ by 6-1/2″. Then I scored 1″ down, creased this section, then attached it over the top back of the Smoky Slate 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ base layer. Next I adhered a 2″ white circle to the Smoky Slate layer marking the middle and creating a small inside section where the card can be signed.
After die-cutting the frame, I placed it on my Media Grip Mat on my Glass Mat. The die-cut frame held in place really well! So at this point I was able to using my Blending Brushes and add my green inks. The frame stayed in place the entire time. And I was able to just rinse the ink off the Media Grip Mat when I was done.
Next I cut half-way through each side of this frame piece and brought all the corners together in the middle to make more of a cross shape. I adhered each of these “corners” to my vellum card front using sponged on Multipurpose Glue making sure the glue was evenly added across each section of each layer AND making sure everything was level and coming together in the middle of the white circle underneath.
I trimmed off an excess on the sides and then prepared the remaining pieces. I heat embossed two white sentiments onto punched out black circles. And I cut out a bunch of single vellum leaves and tiny purple flowers.
After adhering a few vellum leaves where they would look best, I added my front black sentiment circle with Dimensionals making sure it aligned and covered the white circle showing through from the inside. Then I added my inside black sentiment circle with Seal making sure it aligned and covered the black circle showing through from the front.
Then I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue and Glue Dots and connected several purple flowers and a few Purple Fine Shimmer Gems.
As you can see it’s a card with not a lot of space to write, but it definitely is a artsy and eye-catching.
A card made with a vellum base is always intriguing and unique, but can be tricky to assemble. When designing, you have to keep in mind that anything you put on the front may be seen from the inside. AND anything you put on the inside may be seen from the front. So you have to keep the front, the underside of the front, and the inside ALL in mind the whole time.
