Welcome to a special Paper Pumpkin “Pop Up” Blog Hop! Today I’ve joined with several fellow demonstrators who are fans of this month’s special 5th Anniversary kit so we could bring to you many creative alternate ideas at once – projects that we each put together using the contents of the March 2018 Paper Pumpkin kit: May Good Things Grow.
I’ve got three “outside the box” ideas for you. This first one is a pocket photo page layout.
I first trimmed down the designer paper pieces to 3″ x 4″ each. I adhered the Fresh Fig ribbon horizontally across the middle of each piece, added the floral die-cut halves to the pink pieces with Dimensionals, attached a knot of ribbon to the stems, added a wooden element, and then accented the ribbons with pearls.
For this piece I cut down a Fresh Fig card base from the kit to 4″ x 6″ and then attached all the pieces. (The label is attached with Dimensionals.)
Did you notice the label is stamped with just a partial image of the sentiment? I masked off what I didn’t want to stamp by covering that area with washi tape.
Then after inking up the stamp, I peeled away the washi tape before stamping it onto my label.
This second project is a 12×12 traditional page layout. Do you notice any similarities? wink wink
I transferred my pocket photo page elements to a couple sheets of 12×12 Soft Suede cardstock (from the Neutrals 12×12 cardstock pack). Then I added some rectangular Basic Black photo mats: bottom four are 5-1/2″ x 4″, the middle ones are 2-1/2″ x 4″, and the top pieces are 3″ x 4″. Finally before attaching them all to the base pages, I stamped a few leaf cluster images with Soft Suede ink.
The last step…I added a few pearls.
On March 15th I was blessed with a visit from my Colorado team member, Mackenzie Grimme from Mackenzie Makes. Her and her daughter, Anna spent the day with my boys and me. And a few other local team members (that were able to come over and stamp midday on a weekday) joined us to visit, chat and stamp after the lunch hour.
Susan Campfield (my direct upline, Mackenzie’s second level upline) brought a fun mermaid card make-n-take for us all.
I provided supplies to make the card shown below.
And Vicki Bibeau contributed the supplies for a right-angle fold over card using the Petal Palette stamp set.
So here is my third project – one of our make-n-takes from that afternoon…a sweet note card using the stamp images and wooden elements that came in the March kit.
These two photos show the cards we all made. I don’t remember who made which ones except for a few. Mine is in the top photo – the middle one. Susan’s is in the bottom photo – 3rd one. And Anna’s is in the bottom – the 4th one.

*** Sale-a-Bration is the best time to purchase prepaid subscriptions because you get perks… You get a Sale-a-Bration item for every $50 you spend in ADDITION to the savings with the 6 and 12-month prepaids. Many dedicated subscribers purchase their 12-month prepaids at this time of year. And not to worry if your subscription is automatic and you already have a credit card in the system. The code that you will get after purchasing your prepaid (once added into your account) will override your credit card each month for the time frame of your prepaid. Your card won’t get charged during that time period. EVERYONE can take advantage of Paper Pumpkin prepaids! So I encourage you to consider purchasing a prepaid that during Sale-a-Bration. You can get free Sale-A-Bration items with a 3, 6 or 12-month prepaid. You always save money on the 6 and 12-month ones, but from January 3 – March 31, you can earn freebies. You just pay the additional $6.95 shipping if there is nothing else you are adding to your prepaid order. So if you get a 12 month prepaid, you’d pay $215 plus tax. And then you’d get 4 SAB items and $21.50 in stampin’ rewards (free items of your choice) for the additional $6.95 shipping. If you added other merchandise to your prepaid order, the shipping costs could change. So if you ordered a 3-month for $59 US and then added another $91 in product, then you’d pay $59 + tax and $91 + $9.10 s/h + tax and you’d get 3 SAB items because you have $150 in merchandise, AND you’d get $15 in free merchandise. If you only purchased a $59 3-month prepaid, you’d get to choose one SAB item and pay the additional $6.95 shipping. Every order in the US has a minimum $6.95 shipping if there is product other than the Paper Pumpkin prepaids included in it. And if you are purchasing the 12-month, I would recommend bumping the order to $250. Then you would get an extra $25 free so a total $50 free plus 5 Sale-A-Bration items!

On Sunday I shared several projects that I created with the contents of the December 2017 Flora and Flutter Paper Pumpkin. After creating all of those and recording my video, I continued to play with my kit. And I came up with 3 more projects to share with you:
a fun fishy card
another shaker card
and a Memories & More/pocket photo page layout
I added a product list under each project. And I gave a few helpful tips and measurements just in case you’d like to recreate any of these with your Paper Pumpkin kit supplies. Here they are!
A FUN FISHY CARD
Extra Products (in addition to the supplies from the December 2017 PP Kit):
Basic Black Cardstock: 5-1/4″ x 4″ and 4 strips that are 1/8″ x no more than 4″
Bermuda Bay 1/8″ Shimmer Ribbon: 2-1/2″
Basic Gray 1/4″ Shimmer Ribbon: 2-3/4″
Tips:
Cut one of the white banner pieces from the kit in half.
Stamp “Hello” on both pieces. Color in with Blends marker.
Attach one to the 5-1/4″ x 4″ Basic Black piece as shown. Trim off any excess. Then add the Basic Black cardstock on the inside left panel of the leaf die-cut card so the black shows through the window from the front of the card.
Add strips of Basic Black cardstock just inside the edge of a green die-cut piece. Then attach this green die-cut piece to the front of the card.
Stamp black leaf images in the lower left.
Angle-cut the ends of the ribbons and attach them to the front of the card just under the green frame.
Attach the other “Hello” piece so that the left end is up on a Dimensional.
Stamp and cut out the fish images from white cardstock in the kit. Color the eyes with the Blends marker. Attach two fish to the front of the card as shown with Dimensionals. Add the third to the inside along with a branch of leaves from another die-cut piece.
Then add the “bubbles” above all the fish.
ANOTHER SHAKER CARD
Extra Products (in addition to the supplies from the December 2017 PP Kit):
Calypso Coral 3/8″ Shimmer Ribbon: two pieces that are about 1-1/2″ long
Tips:
Stamp “thank you” in the center of one of the square white pieces in the kit.
Attach Window Sheet to the back of the green die-cut leaf frame piece using glue dots in the kit. Add Foam Adhesive Strips along all four sides securing Window Sheet piece to the back of the frame. Run a tissue along the inside of the Foam Adhesive Strips to get rid of any stickiness. Then exhale onto the window sheet to get rid of excess static.
Sprinkle sequins in the center of the window, flip stamped white square cardstock upside-down, and attach to the window sheet piece making sure the words will be going the correct direction when flipped back over.
Layer strips of Berry Burst ribbon from the kit with the Calypso Coral Shimmer Ribbon strips. Attach so they are coming out of the lower right corner of the shaker piece.
Add the shaker piece to the Lemon Lime Twist Tutti Frutti card base piece.
Stamp a butterfly and add with a glue dot. And fold up the wings. (See the video that I shared on Sunday for tips to stamping this butterfly.)
A MEMORIES & MORE/PHOTO POCKET PAGE LAYOUT
Extra Products (in addition to the supplies from the December 2017 PP Kit):
Basic Black Cardstock: two pieces that are 4″ x 6″ and three pieces that are 3″ x 4″
Crumb Cake Cardstock: one piece that is 4″ x 6″ and three pieces that are 3″ x 4″ (these represent photos and could be left out if not used as mats)
Tips:
Stamp “A Great Day” on the right side of one of the white banner pieces from the kit. Stamp and cut out three dragonfly images from the white cardstock in the kit.
Attach Epoxy Shapes on the bodies of the dragonflies.
Punch out “clouds” from the glimmer paper in the kit.
Trim down a brown die-cut leaf card front to 3-3/4″ wide. Curl with a Bone Folder, then attach the banner piece in the lower left corner with Mini Dimensionals and glue dots in the kit. Trim off any excess. Attach to one of the 4″ x 6″ Basic Black pieces.
Then trim out a branch of leaves (as shown) from a green die-cut leaf frame piece and attach it to the brown leaf frame area with Mini Dimensionals.
Add a dragonfly in the leaf frame area. And add an Epoxy shape to the left of the words in the banner.
Add an envelope that has been trimmed to 3-3/4″ wide onto the other 4″ x 6″ Basic Black piece.
Attach the glimmer paper clouds, the two other dragonflies, and the extra branch of leaves to the 3″ x 4″ Basic Black pieces.
Slip into the pockets and add photos when you are ready.

Yesterday I shared that I created more alternate projects with the contents of the October 2017 Paper Pumpkin kit. So today I am sharing the second one of those three. This is a photo pocket page. Scrapbooking/memory keeping with pocket pages is quick and easy. Because you are only adding decorative elements to “card-size” areas of the page, it’s not overwhelming. AND to make it even less overwhelming, Stampin’ Up! has pre-designed elements for you in our Memories & More kits. (I completed my whole wedding album in no time using this system. I recommend this method if you are wanted to start scrapbook, but are hesitant.)
This one below was super simple to assemble, because I didn’t stray too far from the Paper Pumpkin kit project design.
Here are the directions & measurements if you wish to recreate this.
Cut one of the card bases from the kit to 4″ x 6″. (Ignore the score line since this will mostly get covered.)
Cut a 1/4″ wide strip and a 1/2″ wide strip from the leftovers.
Cut the 1/2″ wide strip so it looks similar to the gold banner in the kit.
Stamp the “Happiest Of Holidays To You” sentiment image in Basic Black ink onto a 2-7/8″ x 2-7/8″ white snowflake printed piece from the kit. Stamp some extra snowflake images in Pool Party ink. Attach the gold banner underneath covering up the “to you” and then attach the plaid banner on top of that but bit further down so the gold still shows.
Attach the branch/ornament window layer from the kit using a foam adhesive circle from the kit being careful to keep the words straight.
Then attach this entire piece to the 4″ x 6″ plaid layer to complete the upper left page element.
Cut two 3″ x 4″ pieces from the Merry Little Christmas designer paper.
Stamp Pool Party snowflake in the center “perforated” area of an ornament piece from the kit.
Attach the narrow 1/4″ strips above and below using the perforated lines as guides.
Add foam adhesive to the back with some of this adhesive sticking out just a bit at the top.
Cut a 3/4″ wide strip from the gold scraps in the kit. And add this to the top of the ornament above the gold printed part to make it appear to be an extension of the ornament cap.
Attach the ornament to one of the 3″ x 4″ pieces from the Merry Little Christmas designer paper.
Insert these page elements into 3 of the pockets and insert photos into the remaining pockets. (The Pear Pizzazz cardstock in these other pockets represent photos, but I added this cardstock to the supply list below so you could find it in my online store if you wanted.)
In case you don’t know, I design a photo pocket page layout with each and every Paper Pumpkin kit. So if you are a Paper Pumpkin subscriber, use the elements in your kits to build some fantastic albums.

Product List… things you might need/want in addition to the September 2017 Paper Pumpkin kit to make any or all of the projects in the videos
This image below shows what we were to make with our August Paper Pumpkin kits. So pretty, right?!
But I always challenge myself to see what else I can come up with using the contents of the kit. I love thinking outside the box and creating alternate projects.
This first one is this super simple 12×12 photo pocket page layout.
I disassembled the box that came in the kit, flattened it out and cut two pieces from it (6" x 4" and 3" x 4") for two of the pockets. The smaller piece I left alone, and I only added the "congrats" title piece on Dimensionals to the the larger one.
Then for the third pocket piece I cut down one of the envelopes to 3" x 4", stamped "you did it!" across the top section, added a couple leaf stickers, and stuck on a flower. I tried to replicate the flower in the other pieces…I sponged the edges of a peach die-cut flower in the kit and the backside of one of the smaller flowers with Calypso Coral ink. I then stuck those two together and stamped the center. Easy peasy! Right?
I usually work with 2 kits when I create all my alternate projects. So I had another box! This was the one that I referred to in my video – the one that had the bottom popping up when I first opened my kit. I decided to use that inside flap as a cover instead. So I reinforced all the other sections of the box with strong Tear & Tape Adhesive, connected the back flaps, folded the outer edge of what was now the lid of my box the opposite direction to tuck it inside the box and help hold the box shut, and then I added my decorations (ribbon, leaves, and a tag).
I lined the inside with the blue tissue paper that comes with each Paper Pumpkin kit and filled the box with chocolates! (yum)
This last idea I have for you is a fun way to use up all the extra foliage stickers. Stampin' Up! gave us a ton of those in our August kits!
I used many extra supplies to build this card. But if you don't have these items on hand you could always just use the idea of the wreath in a different card layout.
For this card I cut some Garden Green cardstock to 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" and scored it parallel to the 5-1/2" edge at 2-1/8" and 4-1/4". Then I added four 2" x 5-3/8" panels – 2 Real Red designer paper pieces from the Quilted Christmas pack on the two outer sections and 2 Whisper White pieces of cardstock on the two inner sections. I tied on some gold ribbon and folded it shut into a z-fold.
Then I cut some Whisper White cardstock with the largest circle die in the Stitched Shapes Framelits set and stamped the center with the sentiment. (To stamp the sentiment first ink the "thinking" portion of the stamp. Stamp it down & clean it BEFORE inking just the "of you" portion of the stamp.)
The last step is building the wreath. I seriously just stuck down full and partial stickers starting at one section and going around. There was no rhyme or reason – no math or anything involved in this process. So go for it! Then I attached the berries and added this entire circle piece to the card with Dimensionals (under the left half only).
These were hints shared recently on Stampin' Up!'s blog about this upcoming September Paper Pumpkin kit… "Right now new subscribers get 50% off the impressive September kit, including fall-themed projects bedecked with stamped leaves and laser-cut, gold foil stickers…
…(which you can see peeking out in the image above). We can almost guarantee that you’ll want more than one. So don’t wait!"
So of course… I'm on pins and needles from all this suspense!
