#APaperPumpkinThing Welcome to our monthly APPT blog hop! This time we are highlighting the May 2023 Exploring In ColorPaper Pumpkin kit. I created 18 alternate cards with the contents of this kit. The first set of three cards are z-folds and show off more of the printed card designs. The second set of 15 cards share how you can QUINTUPLE the cards from the kit by just adding black & white cardstock and some coordinating 2023-25 In Color Dots.

I usually share lots more project ideas soon after my kit arrives. This would’ve been around the 22nd of last month. But I was in Europe for 2 weeks, got back late on the 28th, slept and unpacked the whole next day, and then got sick 😢. It feels weird not to have done a video of alternates with this kit. But I hope those of you who follow my Paper Pumpkin shares will forgive me this month. Gosh! And such a great kit! I know I could’ve created more. But this is what I DID design…
Z-Fold cards! Hello…the back sides of the kit card bases are just too pretty to have hidden.
By opening the card bases up all the way, adding additional score lines 2-1/8″ in, and folding a bit differently, these z-folds show it ALL off.
Be sure to not overdo the extras around the sentiment sections, too. I omitted these pieces.
Here is the first card.
The only extra product I added outside of the kit was the Brushed Brass Butterflies. Can you find them?
To write a message, flip the card over. When I first saw this design, I was worried for those in the tent, but then I noticed the gulch or ravine. Phew! 😆
This is the second one.
The butterflies are easier to see on this one.
This design is my favorite because I love to canoe.
And this is the third.
Those butterflies are one of my favorite sets of embellishments. I highly recommend them.
I hope you enjoyed these.
For the second set of cards I used the supplies of three kit cards and three kit envelopes, cut them into smaller pieces, rearranged things, and added the pieces to Basic White and Basic Black cardstock. This is what you can prepare for one set of 15.
Measurements for the first 12 cards
Basic White Cardstock
(12) 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored parallel to the short side at 4-1/4″
(12) 2-3/8″ punched circles
Basic Black Cardstock
(24) 1/2″ x 5-1/2″
Kit card bases – each cut into 4 vertical sections
Measurements for the other 3 cards
Basic Black Cardstock
(3) 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″
Kit envelopes – sides cut off to make them 5-1/2″ wide…and then cut a bit of the flaps off and cut just below the designs
Here are the results of the first twelve.
The black strips of cardstock are added under the sides of each scenery strip. And the sentiment circles are added with Dimensionals.
And the 2023-25 In Color Dot embellishments are simple to add, and add just the right amount of shine. I used 3 per card.
Here are the results of the last three. These are made from the envelopes that are trimmed up and wrapped over and attached to the Basic Black base pieces.
This is what they look like on the back.
And this is what they look like open. The inside 3-1/4″ x 4-1/2″ white layers are cut from the remaining envelope paper.
These close up photos show that I used the extra envelope flaps for a couple of the sentiment piece accents. This Happy Birthday one is trimmed about 3/4″ from the right end, separated a bit, and then connected with the binoculars.

I’d like to introduce you to a fun new bundle called Gone Fishing.
The stamps and dies focus on bait and tackle!
To me one of the fun parts about going fishing is organizing and sorting all those lures, sinkers, spoons, hooks, bobbers, etc in the tackle box. In fact when I was younger I think I enjoyed looking in the compartments of my tackle box more than holding the rod and waiting for fish to bite. And when I was even younger I remember my sister and I each had tackle boxes just for our art supplies and other entertaining toys and games. We’d open them up and play with everything on our 4 hour-long rides to the cabin most summer weekends.
So needless to say, I was inspired and had to purchase and create with this bundle.
Today I’d like to share with you step-by-step directions for a Father’s Day themed pop-up tackle box card using this bundle and a few other coordinating Stampin’ Up!® products. I had so much fun creating the look of chips & guacamole when I made my Hexagon Pop-Up card that I shared on February 17th that I had to put together another. This time I made it into a festive Easel Card. I kept the look of the guacamole & tortilla chips. But this time I also added in a couple red peppers to the inside. And everything is done with Stampin’ Up!® products.
I just showed live on YouTube and on Facebook about an hour ago step-by-step directions for creating this card with the Taco Fiesta Stamp Set, Basic Borders Dies, Enjoy the Journey Designer Paper, Painted Texture Embossing Folder, Whale Builder Punch, Bough Punch, and other coordinating product. My friend and fellow team member, Vy Tran from Crafting Daily Dose creates some impressive cards. If you’ve never seen her projects, click here for her Instagram posts or here for her YouTube videos. Her latest design got me so excited that I had to make a version of it right away. It’s a pop-up card that goes from flat to fantastic! And the base is a hexagon shape when in the full pop-up position.

This is the top view of the “nacho” card.
And it folds flat and fits inside our A2/medium size envelopes.
Here are a couple close-ups of my “holy guacamole” card. On this one I remembered to emboss the Parakeet Party cardstock (the guacamole) before assembling. This one is actually made a little bit differently than the “nacho” one, because I put it together before I reached out to Vy. I love trying to figure out things like this on my own. I love the challenge!
Oh! And can you tell what the red and green bits are?
Tomatoes and cilantro! I gave a wet, shiny look to my tomatoes with a bit of Fine Tip Glue.

One of my favorite products is kits. I love that everything that you need is included AND I love that anyone can enjoy them. People that want to make something quick, those that struggle with being creative, those that don’t have space for a lot of product, and beginning crafters can assemble the kits as intended. Those that want to create and have (or are willing to purchase) a few extra tools and supplies can go beyond and use those kits as a “launch pad” for coming up with other unique projects. Yep…kits are a product that ANYone can enjoy.
Well this time I played around and altered the Timeless Greetings Kit from Stampin’ Up!’s Kits Collection to get twice as many cards. So Instead of eight cards from this one kit, you can make sixteen! Here is a peek at 4 of them. The cards are quite handsome, right?!

Did you catch the blog hop I participated in a few days back on August 20th? Those of us in that hop each featured a fun fold card called the Pop-Out Bendy card. I used the Apple Harvest Stamp Set (available now) and Apple Blossoms Dies (which will be available September 1st) in my version of this fold.
Well… I got hooked and made a few more cards with this fold. One of them I shared on August 22nd. And the other two I’m showing you today.
In fact I just showed live on YouTube and on Facebook about an hour ago step-by-step directions for creating this Pop-Out Bendy Fun Fold Card with the Aspen Tree Dies, Inspired Thoughts Stamp Set, Leaf Fall Embossing Folder, and Lights Aglow Specialty Designer Paper. I also showed another version of this card I made with the Christmas Pinecones Dies. And now I’m sharing that video here in my blog post.
