For today’s creative idea, I put together another BTW fun fold card. One of the sheets in the new Otterly Adorable Designer Paper was perfect for this special fold. So I couldn’t resist.

The cards I’m sharing today are peeks at the alternates that I created with one set of card supplies from the popular Hello Hollyhocks Kits Collection Kit. This kit contains supplies for 3 sets of 3 cards. So for my October 26th Kit Together event (held just a few hours ago) I mailed each participant 1/3 of this kit. And from that we created six unique and pretty cards which I’m sharing throughout this post.
Event attendees joined together virtually on Zoom for 2 hours of fun and creativity. I demonstrated step-by-step how to make these six cards using those materials they each received from me. But we also took time to socialize, laugh & have fun, and work on our own kits or other projects. It was like a mini retreat. Oh!…And there were prize drawings at the end. It was a super fun event!
Not everyone that registered could attend the Live Zoom gathering today. But a perk to registering is access to a recording of the demonstration AND to the instructional PDF.
The instructions, tips, and measurements are exclusive for those that took part in the event. But I at least wanted to share these peek photos of the cards I demonstrated to give you a little creative inspiration today AND to entice you to sign up for a future kit together. It’s well worth it… exclusive make-n-takes and instruction, prizes, ordering specials, time set aside to craft with others and work on your own kits, and just plain fun!
Because we made six cards from the supplies of three, we had to add in a bit of extra cardstock, envelopes and embellishments. AND we had to add sentiment imagery from an outside set. Again, I’m not sharing that supply list, but I will share that the extra stamp set I recommended (and used in my samples) is Wonderful Thoughts. It’s a great set with lots of varied word images and one that I use quite often.

What else can you make with the contents of the Christmas Ornaments Kits Collection Kit? How about cards? Why yes. Of course! I made six cards with my 2nd third of this kit. (I made wine bottle tags with my 1st third and shared those on September 14th. Visit that post if you want to see those projects.)
For each of these, you’ll need a 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ sheet of Early Espresso Cardstock folded in half for the card base and a 3-3/4″ x 5″ Basic White layer for the inside. Then for three of them, you’ll need a 2″ diameter punched circle of Basic White to layer onto the three kit circles that don’t have white centers.
First stamp all your circles.
Lay out the pieces on your card, pull them away to stamp the background foliage images, then add them back in with adhesive.
Be sure to add your sentiment layer with Dimensionals.
And then embellish to add a bit more texture.
I used images from the Winterly Tree Tops Stamp Set. But there are probably many other stamp sets you could try using instead.
And did you notice that though this is a Christmas kit, changing the sentiment can make these cards work for other times of the year or other occasions. In fact they would make great masculine birthday cards.

Since three of the nine gold rings in the kit are small enough to stay up towards the neck of a bottle, you can make three wine bottle tags and still have supplies left for more projects. (I’ll share my other ideas soon.)
All you need to do is create three of the larger ornaments per the kit directions (or with a slightly different combination like I did). Then tie the gold cords extending from each of them to the smaller gold rings.
Write messages on the back sides. Then slide them down over the tops of the beverages you are gifting. You are all set to give a beautiful yet simple-to-put-together gift.

I’m going to show you lots of creative ideas, demonstrate a make-n-take project that I created for a recent August team event (using the Changing Leaves stamps, dies, embossing folder, AND other coordinating Stampin’ Up!® products), show off “card candy” that my Stampers With ART team members created and swapped out at this event, show you more cards that were created at this event with Kits Collection kits by those who attended in person, and introduce you to new products that are debuting September 4th in the new mini catalog. Phew! Are you ready?
I just showed live on YouTube and on Facebook about 2 hours ago how to create my make-n-take project, all of the card candy, and my new products. I also slipped in a few other tips, card ideas and products. And now I’m sharing that video here in my blog post. (By the way, I do NOT have a supply list or measurements for each of these. That would take me way too much time. I am sharing them to inspire your creativity and to show all the talent.) Besides swapping card candy, we enjoyed food and conversation, and we got creative with a few kits from the Kits Collection. Lori, Marciene, Kristie and Shannon (our special guest and Demonstrator Development Manager from Stampin’ Up!’s home office) created with the Expressions of Kindness Kit.

You can see my set up for the live broadcasts. My dad assures me that the wi-fi speed will be improving soon. So hopefully someday soon I’ll be able to have longer stays up there and still do lives without any issues. (Crossing my fingers.)

Have you seen the card sketches Stampin’ Up! added into this year’s 2024-25 Annual Catalog? Of the 22 sketches shown on p. 22, I’d like to show you a card I created based on the ninth one. I used the Sketched Butterflies Stamp Set, Oxidized Copper Specialty Paper, and Copper Metallics Wow! Embossing Powder for the ten 1/2″ tall strips.
Three of the 1/2″ x 3-3/4″ strips are Pretty Peacock stamped with butterflies in Pretty Peacock ink. Two are just plain strips of Lost Lagoon cardstock (where I placed the Pretty Peacock Blooming Pearls). Two are Oxidized Copper paper strips. And the other three are Basic White Cardstock strips coated with three layers of Copper Metallics Wow! Embossing Powder and pressed in butterfly stamp images.
The key for getting those pressed in images is to immediately press the stamp into the heated powder before it cools. If you mess up, you can reheat the powder with the Heat Tool to soften it again and smooth out the copper embossing. Then once again press your stamp into the warmth right away. It’s a fun technique that’s been around for years (I remember it being super popular when I first became a demonstrator in 2000). The sample card shown on p. 126 made me want to try it again.
It’s an amazing look, right? (This layout is also great for making use of paper scraps!) Be sure to check out the full product list below for all the supplies needed to make this great birthday card. Oh! And don’t forget to stamp a pretty butterfly on the inside, too!
