After my box opening broadcast to my Facebook Group last weekend, I decided the new Peony Dies needed some attention right away. They can be intimidating to look at! But once you watch someone put the die-cut pieces of the 3D flower together, it all makes sense. So I created a card using the new Peony Dies and gave them an even more realistic 3D appearance with sponges and ink. Then I shared this card during my latest Online Paper Crafting Class on Facebook on Wednesday.
I uploaded the recording of this class onto my YouTube channel (since I know not everyone is ON Facebook) and shared it here in my blog post. Be sure to watch the video by clicking here (or you can just click on this image below if you are already on my blog), scroll through the close-up photos that follow, check out the products list below, and then let me know if you have any questions.
I hope you enjoyed what I shared in this video. Below are measurements, close-up photos, and a product list for this card I demonstrated and the other two I shared at the end of the video. Each project includes instructions, photos, imperial and metric measurements, and complete product lists. Click here to learn how you can get this entire bundle of 90 great ideas.
When the new Ornate Garden Suite became available, I created quite a few cards. One of my favorites was this one.
I wanted the raised flowers in the Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder to really stand out. So I inked up the background side of the folder before inserting the Mango Melody cardstock and embossing. And I loved the results!
I created a few more versions of this card using other colors, and then I demonstrated this card in my latest Online Paper Crafting Class on Facebook this past Wednesday. Then I uploaded the recording of this class onto my YouTube channel (since I know not everyone is ON Facebook) and shared it here in my blog post. But this “Cherish” card shown above was actually inspired by the layout that I originally made with this card below.
Some of you may think you’ll use up your pretty papers too quickly if you cover the whole front of a card. But look how easy it is to make a pretty card without a lot of fuss. AND my guess is that those of you not using much designer paper also have quite a bit of pretty paper that you may NEVER use…piles of it? wink wink Designer paper is meant to be used and not hidden away and hoarded in our craft rooms. So dig it out. And use this simple layout for inspiration to make cards that you can send off to your family and friends!

Here’s a card that may blow your mind. It’s called a Hexaflexagon. And it’s made from just one 2″ x 12″ strip of paper! A little background on this type of fun fold from Wikepedia… “In geometry, flexagons are flat models, usually constructed by folding strips of paper, that can be flexed or folded in certain ways to reveal faces besides the two that were originally on the back and front. Flexagons are usually square or rectangular or hexagonal. The discovery of the first flexagon, a trihexaflexagon, is credited to the British student Arthur H. Stone, who was studying at Princeton University in the United States in 1939.”

I rushed right into creating with my new December 2019 Paper Pumpkin kit because my mind was racing with alternate project ideas the moment I opened the box AND because I wanted to share with you right away. With my family on vacation for two weeks for the holidays I wanted to be sure to share with you before all of us went on relaxation, sleeping-in-late mode. ?Hahaha!
This month’s kit (titled Something for Everything) included supplies to put together 12 attractive all-occasion cards (4 of 3 designs). And it included the supplies shown below.
I like to think outside the box…see what else I can come up with, and create alternate cards, scrapbook pages and more. So I added the extra supplies in the product list at the bottom of this post to the above kit contents and created my alternate projects that I’m sharing with you today:
Three K-Cup holders
A simple congratulations card
A flower pot card
A pyramid/teepee card
And a 12×12 scrapbook page
Watch my video first to get to get measurements, directions, and tips (you can just click on this image below if you are already on my blog). Scroll down to see close-up photos, access the links that I mentioned in my video, and see a list of extra supplies (linked to my online store) that I used to make my creations. Then be sure to visit my blog again soon, because I have many more alternate projects that I’ll be sharing in early January. ?
Here are the cards the kit instructs how to make.
And here are close-up photos of the alternate projects I made and shared in my video. (Remember to watch the video first to get measurements, tips and directions.)
Three K-Cup holders
A simple congratulations card
A flower pot card (A correction to the flower pot card: the measurement for the base piece is 3-1/2 x 8-1/2″ as I mentioned. The print across the screen is incorrect. I’m so sorry for any confusion this caused.)
A pyramid/teepee card
And a 12×12 scrapbook page
I hope I inspired your creativity with what I shared today!

MY ONLINE PAPER CRAFTERS CLUB IS LOOKING FOR NEW MEMBERS I’m forming a new Paper Crafters club that will begin mid-December (with orders due mid-month for January, February, March, April, May, and June). And we are looking for more to join us. The commitment is to order at least $25 worth of Stampin’ Up! product in each of those 6 months. In one of those months, you would reap the hosting rewards (free merchandise based on the club orders). And then you’d also be able to get in on monthly product perks that would be sent to you along with your monthly club cards.
