While coming up with project ideas for my Abstract Beauty Blog Hop post and the All Star Exclusives Tutorial Bundle for March, I started folding the 4″ x 6″ designer paper from that suite and created a simple treat holder for Ghirardelli chocolate squares. I didn’t go any further with this project and set it aside…until now.
This past weekend, I was creating so I could share a couple 3-D project ideas for Easter. So I grabbed those treat holders I had set aside, used some fun neutral designer paper patterns from the In Good Taste collection, and turned them into Bunny Boxes (with bunny ears and a tail).
I also took an idea that I learned from a swap I received from Bibi Cameron back in April 2016 swap and updated it with current designer papers. And although I’m calling them Easter Totes, you can really make these for any occasion by just changing up the papers and the candy you put inside.
I just showed live on YouTube and on Facebook about an hour ago step-by-step directions for creating these two adorable treat containers. And now I’m sharing that video here in my blog post. - In Good Taste (or other) Designer Paper
- 4” x 6” scored parallel to long side 1” in from each side & scored parallel to short side at 3/4”, 1-1/2”, 3-1/2” and 4-1/4”
- Scrap for punching ears (optional)
- Basic White Cardstock
- Scrap for punching ears (optional)
- Scrap for punching or die-cutting tail (sentiment piece)
Measurements for Easter Totes…
- Expressions in Ink or Waves of the Ocean (or other) Designer Paper
- 4-1/2” x 6” scored parallel to short side at 3/8”, 2-3/8”, 3”, 3-5/8” and 5-5/8”
- Two pieces ¾” x 6” each scored parallel to long side at 3/8”
