I found leftovers from the cards I created and shared on May 5th…some large pieces of inked up and splattered papers and some stamped and punched cones and scoops of ice cream. So I put together more cards.
I wasn’t going to share them here on my blog, but I’m missing summer and sunshine. The days are getting colder and shorter. Autumn began September 22nd, and we can definitely feel it here in Minnesota lately. So if you are also in need of a warm summer day memory, then I hope these ice cream cards do that for you today.
Products I used… See below for a complete list of products linked to where you can find them in my online store.
Measurements
- Basic White Cardstock
- 5-1/2” x 8-1/2″ scored parallel to short side at4-1/4”
- 3-1/4″ x 5-1/2″
- Scraps for stamping and punching ice cream scoops and cone
- White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon
- 14″-16″
Directions
- Use a Blending Brush and add ink to the 3-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ white piece. Use a toothbrush to add water drops. (Watch the video from May 5th so you can see how I did this.) Then mix a drop of ink into the water, and add colored speckles as well. Allow to dry.
- Stamp the scoops of ice cream and punch them out. Stamp the cones and punch them out. To get the lighter colors stamp again without reinking.
- Tie the ribbon around something small (like a bottle of reinker) and make a bow. Trim the ribbon that is wrapped around that something small on the very back. This will give you two extra strands/legs to your bow. 🙂
- Add the 3-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ piece to the front of your card base using a Dimensional in each corner.
- Assemble your cone and add it to the front using Dimensionals. And while doing this tuck under to add the bow.
- Lastly add a couple rhinestones to the top scoop of your cone.
I won’t be live on YouTube this coming week since my boys will have off for a short school break starting that day. In the meantime, I’m getting some extra creativity time in my craft room. And I’ll have some fun projects to share soon. My next YouTube live will be October 27th. I invite you to subscribe to my YouTube channel so you can get notices for when my videos are shared.
Oh! I should probably share a little update on my oldest son, Nick who seems to be moving accomplishing all sorts of things lately. He turned 16 on October 1st and just took (and passed) his driver’s test this past Thursday! So now he can drive himself to school (we have two vehicles and my husband and I both work from home). He can also drive himself to work.
Yes, he has a job, too! He works at a frozen yogurt shop.
And this fall his marching band activities kept him (and us!) busy, too. But what a fantastic experience that was. Their last and biggest competition was held on October 9th at the US Bank Stadium in downtown Minneapolis: Youth In Music. Nick’s high school placed 3rd out of 12 Class A schools! A the drumline (he’s the bass drummer in the middle in this photo) ranked 1st! But what’s even more amazing is their drumline also had higher scores than several of the much larger schools in Class AA, AAA and AAAA making them one of the top drumlines overall…6th out of 31 schools!!
He’s having a great start to his 10th grade year.

Refreshing and yummy. I love fall but know winter will be coming. We can always do cupcakes but ice cream makes it more fun at this time of year. Plus, loving your fresh take on backgrounds for the cards. I will watch the May video later today.
Thanks Chris!
