Here is a photo of the intended projects from this month’s kit: 8 full-size (5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″) family appreciation-themed cards – 4 of 2 kinds.

The April 2020 My Wonderful Family Paper Pumpkin Kit. - Stampin’ Up!® - Stamp Your Art Out! www.stampyourartout.com

I’ve already shared a few other alternate projects using the contents of this kit on April 23rd.

  • An accordion display card
  • A pocket fun-fold card
  • Three decorated containers
  • And a 12×12 scrapbook page

CLICK HERE to check them out for more ideas.

Today I have another fun fold card that I’m calling an “arch fold card” AND another set of cards using the leftover pieces from the kit. I absolutely LOVE these ideas that I am sharing with you today. My arch fold card is my favorite, so I’ll share that one first.

Products I used for these projects… See below for a complete list of extra products I used linked to where you can find them in my online store.

This card when connected in the back stands up and creates a window-framed scene. Fun, right?!

Start by die-cutting a large oval shape from the middle of this portion of the kit card. Cut a slit 1/2″ in from the left edge coming down 2-1/8″ from the top. Then cut another slit 1/2″ in from the right edge coming up 2-1/8″ from the bottom. You are looking at the inside of the card right now.

Fold the Shaded Spruce green section inward, flip the card base over, and emboss the oval cut portion (and the green folded over portion) with the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder.

Stamp the tree image with Soft Sea Foam ink onto a large white label kit piece. Sponge the edges and add a few pearls. Cut a large leaf into three sections as shown. Fold the wings up on two butterflies. And attach them to the label.

Using Dimensionals adhere the two smaller leaf sections so they come from behind the label.

Stamp sentiments with Early Espresso ink: one on the back of the card (slightly off to the right as shown) and one on the Soft Sea Foam green banner. Then adhere the large left over leaf piece to the back of the green banner and connect to the front of the card with Dimensionals so the Dimensionals sit just beneath the center of the oval hole.

Flip the card over. Add the butterfly piece as shown.

The card can be mailed flat folded on the score lines. And then to prop it up, connect the sides by sliding them together like this.

This photo shows why the Dimensionals under the green banner need to be just below the oval window. If they go beyond, then the banner will bend and arch.

Ta-da! What a fun card to give OR recieve.

My other idea that I wanted to share today is how to get 20 more cards from the kit (yes, TWENTY!) just using the extra kit pieces (assuming the cards are put together per the kit instructions), three ink pads (Early Espresso, Shaded Spruce, and Melon Mambo), Linen Thread, some Whisper White Cardstock, and a pack of Magnolia Lane Memories & More Large Specialty Cards & Envelopes.

I’m sharing one of each of the card designs you can get. You can get two of each of these four (8 cards total).

Plus you can see several other alternate project ideas created with this kit by fellow Stampin’ Up! demonstrators in our blog hop: “A Paper Pumpkin Thing”! - Stampin’ Up!® - Stamp Your Art Out! www.stampyourartout.com

You can get three of each of these two (6 more cards).

And you can get six of this one. That makes 20 total. Which is great, because the kit itself makes just 8. So you are more than tripling the cards in the kit.

For this card style (6 of them) I used these extras:

  • 6 large labels
  • 1 yellow strip (cut into 6 pieces)
  • 6 butterflies
  • 6 yellow pearls

For these two card styles (2 of each) I used these extras:

  • 1 light green label (cut in half)
  • 2 green leaves (each cut in three sections)
  • 2 of the butterflies
  • 4″ of ribbon (cut in half)

For these two card styles (2 of each) I used these extras:

  • 2 trees (each cut in half)
  • 8 green pearls
  • 8 birds (two are on the insides of the nest cards)

To make the nest, put a couple Glue Dots on the branch. Add the pearl in the middle. Wind up a small amount of Linen Thread around the end of a pencil a few times. Pull it off and wrap the ends. Then stick the next down onto the Glue Dots with the pearl peeking through the hole in the center.

For these two card styles (3 of each) I used these extras:

  • 3 small labels
  • 6 birds

The white layer measures 3″ x 4″.
