Yay! I completed my other Wood Textures stair step card! Click here to see the one I shared last Friday. And then click here to see the sweet baby blocks versions of these cards along with my how-to video that will help you make the base of this fun fold.
These cards are amazing – fun to make and fun to get. PLUS they fold flat for mailing! Again be sure to watch the how-to video found here.
For this one I added the punched out kitty image from the Nine Lives Stamp Set in the 2019 Occasions Catalog. The stamp set and punch are carrying over into the upcoming 2019-20 Annual Catalog. But the Wood Textures Designer Paper is not. Boo hoo! I will miss this fantastic paper. (I have a feeling that this paper will sell out before the end of May. If you want to get it, don’t delay.)
Here are some details that will help you out if you wish to recreate this card.
Measurements…
- Whisper White Thick Cardstock
- (the base piece) 11” x 4-1/8” scored in from the left and right at 1-3/8”, 2-3/4”, 4-1/8” and 5-1/2” and then in the opposite direction (parallel to the long edge) at 1-3/8” and 2-3/4”
- Scrap for stamping and punching out the cat
- Three pieces that are 3″ x 1-1/2″ – each scored at 1-1/2″ and folded in half
- Wood Textures Designer Paper (white wood pattern)
- 3-7/8″ x 3-7/8″ cut in half diagonally
- Three pieces that are 2-1/2″ x 2-1/2″
- Wood Textures Designer Paper (light brown wood pattern)
- 1″ x 1-1/4″
Products I used… See below for a list of products I used linked to where you can find them in my online store.
CLICK HERE to see more stair step cards and watch my how-to video I shared on February 23, 2019. After assembling the base piece, follow the rest of the directions below to complete the card.
Directions after assembling the base piece…
- Attach the designer paper triangle pieces to the front and back using SNAIL.
- Then fold over the 3″ x 1-1/2″ Whisper White pieces and wrap them each with the 2-1/2″ x 2-1/2″ Wood Textures pieces securing with adhesive to form the boards of the steps. (It may help to notch out the corners of the designer paper before folding over and securing the edges.)
- Attach the assembled boards to the top of the steps using Tear & Tape Adhesive.
- Stamp and punch the kitty.
- Stamp the sentiment.
- Then adhere the kitty with Dimensionals, the toothpick ends with Glue Dots, and the sign with Dimensionals.
This would be a great thank you card. You could leave the triangular designer paper piece off the back and write your message directly on the Whisper White Cardstock. This would also make a great card for someone who accomplished something – a congratulatory card.

ANNUAL CATALOG NEWS
Due to recent supplier issues (and other factors), Stampin’ Up! will no longer be carrying the current die-cutting machine and trimmer: The Big Shot and Stampin’ Trimmer are retiring. These changes are giving Stampin’ Up! the opportunity to research and explore replacement options. But there will be a gap when we do not have a trimmer or die-cutting machine available. You will not see these items in the upcoming 2019-20 Annual Catalog that debuts June 4, 2019. Click here for more information.
