This is a fun-fold that is popping up “here and there” right now. I’ve received swap cards with this fold, too. But I can’t find an official name for the fold. So I’m just gonna call it a right angle fold-over card.
When I recorded this Facebook Live how-to video this past Wednesday, I called the fold by a couple other names (diagonal fold-over & triangle tri-fold). But when I googled those fold names, other card folds came up. So today I’m going with a “right angle fold-over” card.
After recording my Facebook Live, I uploaded it to my YouTube channel (since I know not everyone is ON Facebook). Be sure to watch the video, check out the measurements below so that you can recreate this fun-fold birthday card, and then let me know if you have any questions. If you ARE on Facebook, I invite you to “like” then “follow” my page so you can get updates when I share and when I go live every Wednesday afternoon at 2 PM Central Time.
By the way, this video is unedited. So I just want to tell you a couple things:
- The Epoxy Shapes that I colored and added at the end come in BOTH clear and clear with glitter. Both sheets are in the same package. I made it sound like you could get either/or.
- And the confusion I had with Michelle ink to stamp comments happened because my mind was already on the ribbon coloring. Comments are delayed when broadcasting. Michelle was referring to inking up the stamp with a Stampin’ Write marker instead of using the pad and masking.
Here are the measurements you’ll need if you plan to recreate this card.
Measurements:
- Rich Razzleberry Cardstock:
- 8-1/2” x 11” scored in half in both directions at the 5-1/2” mark and the 4-1/4” mark…then cut diagonally corner to corner for the base
- Scraps for punching 2”, 1-1/2” and 1-1/4” circles
- Whisper White Cardstock:
- 4” x 5-1/4” for the inside
- Scraps for stamping and punching 1-3/4” circle
- Powder Pink Cardstock:
- 5” x 3-3/4” cut diagonally corner to corner (use both pieces)
- Old Olive Cardstock:
- 4-3/4” x 3-1/2” cut diagonally corner to corner (use one)
- Sweet Soirée Designer Paper:
- 4-3/4” x 3-1/2” cut diagonally corner to corner (use one)
- Silver Metallic-Edge Ribbon:
- 4″

And here are a few more close-up photos. I colored the Epoxy Shapes on this card. In the video I share another version where these are Calypso Coral in color.
I think coloring these accents adds a lot, but leaving them clear is pretty too. This original card seems a little more plain without the colored accents.
But in person and up close, the clear ones are quite pretty.
Oh! I love this photo. (I made a bunch of these for a swap.)
Thanks for stopping by today!

P.S. I am putting together another Online Paper Crafters Club and am looking for a few more members to join in. The commitment is to place an order each month for 6 months in row. In one of those months you would get the Stampin’ Rewards (the free goodies) based on the collective orders from those in the club. The other perks would be free catalogs shipped to you, a set of 6 free hand-stamped cards at the end of the 6-month commitment, and exclusive project ideas emailed to you each month. I’m hoping to start this club at the beginning of April. You do not need to live near me. Anyone in the US can join. Let me know if you are interested!
