Yesterday I shared about our new Stampin’ Blends alcohol-based markers that will be available to everyone soon (and are available to current Stampin’ Up!® demonstrators and anyone purchasing the Starter Kit now through October 15). These Blends produce beautiful results when coloring. Here are a few cards I just finished featuring the Seasonal Chums stamp set, the Blends, our Wood Textures designer paper (which is part of the October Buy 3, Get 1 Free special), and the delicate Foil Snowflakes.
The Wood Textures paper pack has lots of wood grain patterns. This lighter gray pattern I thought looked best on a Basic Black cardstock base. I matched that with a silver Foil Snowflake and a strip of silver washi tape. Ta-da! Here is the first card.
To color in the snowman on the Whisper White cardstock, I used some Blends markers combo packs (Smoky Slate, Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler, Pumpkin Pie, and Burmuda Bay), the Ivory and Light Pool Party Blends, and the Color Lifter.
On each of my three cards I lifted this front circular layer up onto Dimensionals.
The inside circular layer (covering up the backside of the snowflake and showing off the back image of the snowman) is not on Dimensionals – just attached with SNAIL Adhesive.
I love the results that coloring with Blends gives.
Here is the second card. The pumpkin is stamped on Very Vanilla cardstock and the card base is Soft Suede cardstock.
All of the cardstock colors I am mentioning can be found in the Neutrals collection. I’ve added below a visual list of all the supplies I used to make these three cards. And each item is linked to my online store if you wish to make a purchase. But keep in mind that the Blends and Color Lifter are not available to order right now unless you plan to purchase them in a Starter Kit OR you are currently an active Stampin’ Up! demonstrator.
Though each of my three cards that I’m sharing today are different, they all share the same measurements for their pieces. Here are the measurements for the pumpkin card pieces.
- Soft Suede Cardstock: 7-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″…two pieces die-cut with the 2-3/8″ circle die
- Very Vanilla Cardstock: 2-3/4″ x 5-1/4″…two pieces punched with the 2-1/4″ Circle Punch…scrap for stamping and die-cutting the pumpkin images
- Wood Textures Designer paper: 2″ x 5-1/2″
- Gold Foil Snowflake: 1/2 piece
- Year of Cheer Washi Tape: 5-1/2″
This is what this card looked like before I started assembling the pieces.
If you plan to recreate any of these cards, be sure that your Foil Snowflake piece and designer paper meet up and that the snowflake doesn’t extend beyond the outer edges of the entire card so you can fit it into an envelope.
To color in the pumpkin, I used some Blends markers combo packs (Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, and Daffodil Delight), the Bronze Blend, and the Color Lifter.
Here is the third card. The base cardstock color is Early Espresso. And this time the white side of the snowflake is showing on the front and the silver is showing on the inside.
To color in the reindeer on the Whisper White cardstock, I used a couple Blends markers combo packs (Crumb Cake & Old Olive), the Ivory, Bronze, Light Smoky Slate and Dark Cherry Cobbler Blends, and the Color Lifter.
Which card was YOUR favorite?
