Toasting can be done to celebrate SO many things. I wasn't even going to share these cards because they are so similar to my other champagne cards that I shared a couple months ago.
But I found out some SUPER FABULOUS news last night, and this celebratory card seems so appropriate right now. (Measurements, tips and supplies are below.)
I shouted out my news with these words on my personal Facebook page so I could tell lots of friends and family right away…
"I am so over-the-top excited!! ? I looked at my Stampin' Up! reports tonight and discovered that I EARNED ENOUGH POINTS FOR THE 2018 ALASKAN CRUISE INCENTIVE TRIP! ? I've never earned a trip this early on (I had until the end of September 2017, but made it just 4-1/2 months into the year). A big thank you to my team, my fellow demonstrators, my customers, my blog followers, my friends, my family, and all the other positive forces in my life!! ☀️ Gosh, I'm blessed.
We are taking our boys on this one. ???? Tim and I went in 2011, and it was by far one of the best incentive trips we've ever been on. What a fabulous adventure this is going to be!!"
I went a little crazy with the emojis and exclamation marks, but WOW! It's just too good to be true.
Another thing that has made us celebrate here at home is that the boys are in the process of moving to new rooms which means we have a chance to paint AND put in new carpet (something this house has needed desperately). My creative side is totally loving this! One room, a hallway and a staircase got re-carpeted yesterday, we bought the new paint for that room last night and I hope to purchase some accessories for a pop of green (Nick's favorite color) in the coming days. He should be moved into this new room of his within a week! I'll keep you posted on how that is all coming along and share pictures when the rooms are done.
And to top off all the happiness going on (they say things happen in 3's), we have our summer family "National Parks Road Trip" completely booked (booked the last place – a Moab, Utah condo a few days ago). So now we can work on the details and breathe a sigh of relief that we have a place to sleep each night. So much fun ahead!
We didn't pull out any champagne last night to toast to our Alaskan trip. (We'll have to do that tonight.) But in the meantime, here are a few more photos of those champagne cards along with some helpful information for recreating them.
Measurements:
- Basic Black Cardstock: 11" x 4-1/4" folded in half for card base & 2-3/4" x 4-1/4"
- Whisper White Cardstock: scrap for the 2" circle & 2-3/4" x 4-1/4" for the inside
- Gold Foil Sheets: scrap for the half 2" circle
- Window Sheets: scrap for the 2-1/8" die-cut circle and for the 1/4" x about 1" stem of the champagne glass
- Silver Glimmer Paper: two pieces that are 1/2" x 4-1/4"
Tips/Directions:
- Stamp the word image then punch it out. Add some SNAIL adhesive to the back and add loops of Gold Thread so it peeks out from the upper right and lower left of the circle.
- Emboss the 2-3/4" x 4-1/4" piece of Basic Black.
- Punch a little less than a half circle of Gold Foil and emboss.
- Die-cut almost a full 2-1/8" circle from the edge of a piece of Window Sheet. Attach stem piece to this piece together, and then attach to the 2-3/4" x 4-1/4" piece of Basic Black so it is slightly tilted. (The stem of the glass should be perpendicular to the rim of the glass. And be sure that all the adhesive used to attach the window sheet pieces will be hidden by the champagne.)
- Trim the end of the stem and attach the Silver Glimmer Paper pieces with Glue Dots. Then add this entire layer to the front of the card.
- Adhere the gold champagne piece to the glass making sure that the straight edge of the "liquid" is parallel to the top/bottom of the card.
- Attach the circular piece using Dimensionals.
- Add a few rhinestones.
- Finish the card by embossing the 2-3/4" x 4-1/4" Whisper White piece with the "celebrate" folder. And attach this to the inside of the card.
I've been photographing the 34 scrapbook pages that I created on my retreat and will soon be able to share those here with you. Thanks for being patient my fellow scrapbookers. AND my February Paper Pumpkin kit has shipped! So hopefully within a couple weeks I'll have some "outside the box" ideas to share with all of you Paper Pumpkin fans. Hugs to you all! Have a great Thursday.
