I attended a Wednesday-Sunday crafting retreat 2 weeks ago and completed 34 pages! (For me, that is super productive.) Many of them were pages that I had already put together as samples. Most of the page elements on those I had to rearrange a bit since I like to get as many photos in an album as possible. But a few of them I didn't have to alter too much.
Here is one from the May 2016 Many Manly Occasions Paper Pumpkin kit. Click here and scroll down to see the original page layout I shared back on June 10, 2016. This layout was one of those that I didn't alter too much. Like my printer at home, I can print on cardstock at the retreat too. So I typed up what I wanted to journal on my computer and then printed it out on Pool Party cardstock, a coordinating color to the kit accents.
(These pages highlight Nick's 2015 Winter Cub Scout Camp experience. I attended with him while Dad stayed home with Luke.)
Here is a page from layout I made with the January 2015 Filled With Love Paper Pumpkin kit. Click here and scroll down to see the original page layout I shared back on February 2, 2015. This was another page layout that I didn't alter much. In fact I only added the matted photos and my handwritten journaling. It's important to add your written words to scrapbooks. This will mean so much to your family especially when they look back on the albums years later. My Grandma Lu (who passed when I was I was a young adult) did a lot of journaling…her script is on her notebooks, artwork and more. And I can't tell what a fabulous feeling it is to see and read her writings. It would not have the same feel had she typed those words. So take pen to paper!
(These photos are from February 2015 and are in Luke's album. I thought it was fun to use this page for these photos, because Luke is using this same kit to make his Valentines for that school year.)
This layout is from the November 2014 Simply Snowflake Paper Pumpkin kit – one of my all-time favorites!!!. Click here to see the original page layout I shared back on December 6, 2014. I totally rearranges pieces on the original layout to make room for my photos. I did however keep the pieces I removed just in case I want to use them on a future layout.
(I have these pages in Nick's album and they show highlights from December 2014. One thing we love to do at our house is take photos of the Christmas gifts we open on Christmas morning. The boys love looking back on what they got.)
And since all the pages I've shared so far show the cold weather months, this last one is set in the summer.
This last page that I'll share today is not from a Paper Pumpkin kit, but it was one that I shared in another form back on July 15, 2016. Click here to see the original page layout. It was one that my scrapbook club recreated. I had leftover pieces after that event and saved them in my page box. I didn't look back on the original design (although I suppose I could have) and just used the elements in another way.
(This page is in Nick's album and shares some of Nick's 2015 summer adventures.)
Most of these pieces are retired. In fact, many of the products used in all these pages are not available anymore. But most scrapbookers look for layout ideas. I hope they give you some inspiration.
I have more, so be sure to watch for more scrapbook page layouts soon.
OH! Did you notice I'm only about 1-1/2 years behind in my boys books?! Yay!
