If you've been following my blog posts lately, I've been sharing a series of cards that my event attendees are making this week at my Stamp-A-Stack event.
- Thursday I shared 3 versions of a card using the Basket of Wishes stamp set.
- Saturday I shared 3 versions of a card using the Halloween Scenes Edgelits and coordinating stamp set.
- And Monday I shared with you 3 cards made with the Paisleys & Posies bundle.
I like to show various ways to do the same card at this event so my stampers have more options.
Today I am sharing the last of my four sets for this event…cards made with the Frosted Medallions stamp set. Just like the cards I shared before, each of the 3 versions of this card share the same supplies. And each of these cards feature new product in the 2016 Holiday Catalog that was released September 1st. I hope you like them!
(I've listed all the products I used to create these cards below.)
These cards have probably been the most challenging for my stampers for three reasons…
- larger stamps have more surface area and thus take more patience to ink and stamp.
- stamping onto colored cardstock takes more time – stamp needs to connect with the cardstock longer in order to absorb well.
- the upper left corner is removed when added to the card and that look is difficult to forecast beforehand.
Measurements:
- Whisper White Cardstock: 11" x 4-1/4" folded in half for the card base
- Soft Sky Cardstock: 4-1/4" x 3-5/8"
- Island Indigo Cardstock: 4-1/2" x 3-7/8"
- Sweet Sugarplum, Tip Top Taupe or Vellum Cardstock: 4" x 4-1/2" diagonally cut in half
Tips:
- Stamp the word image onto lower right corner of the Whisper White card front using Island Indigo ink.
- Stamp the snowflake/medallion/burst image onto the Soft Sky cardstock using Island Indigo ink. Be sure to have an even surface to stamp on. And be sure to use the Stampin' Pierce mat underneath your cardstock to give this large image that extra bit of support when stamping.
- Attach the 4-1/4" x 3-5/8" Soft Sky piece to the 4-1/2" x 3-7/8" Island Indigo piece so it's centered. Then attach this to a triangular Sweet Sugarplum, Tip Top Taupe or Vellum Cardstock piece (triangle piece should border the bottom and right edges).
- Now at a slight angle attach this to the front upper left section of your Whisper White card front making sure that your word image is still visible and clear.
- Turn the entire card upside-down and trim up the excess cardstock protruding from the edges.
- Embellish with sequins (attached with Glue Dots).
Though not a favorite because of the difficulty (at least according to Tuesday and Wednesday's groups of stampers), my class attendees still say it's a pretty card.

These are so pretty! I like seeing all the different looks you can achieve with the same materials. It just goes to show that there are many different ways to make a card look amazing. Thanks for the triple inspiration!
Glad you liked the cards, Natalie. Love your last sentence. LOL
Rachel, I absolutely love this trio of Frosted Medallions cards, I came across them on Pinterest. The cutting of a rectangle in half to get a triangle for the mat layer is such a great idea! I have CASEd your design for a card group project – thank you so very much for inspiring and sharing, it’s so appreciated! Happy stamping : ) Ruth x
Thanks Ruth! I love sharing and am so happy when I hear that what I share has helped another. I was just at a demonstrator event today and learned more ideas that I can’t wait to pass along. 🙂 sharing is what it’s all about, right?! Hugs
