I've got 4 fun cards to share with you in the coming days. And I've made 3 versions of each of these 4 cards. Each of the 3 versions share the same supplies. And each of these cards feature new product in the 2016 Holiday Catalog that was just released September 1. I hope you like them!
Today I would like to share with you these fun basket cards made with the Basket of Wishes stamp set. (I've listed all the products I used to create these cards below.)
Each card has two circles cut with the 2-5/8" and 1-7/8" circle dies. As you can see with the strawberry basket card I stamped the basket on the smaller circle and the words on the bigger one. But on the other two cards I did the opposite.
Measurements:
- Very Vanilla Cardstock: 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" folded in half for the card base & scrap for die-cutting the 2-5/8" and 1-7/8" circles
- Crumb Cake Cardstock: 2" x 5-1/2"
- Glimmer Paper (Red, Pumpkin Pie or Gold): 1/2" x 5"
- Black Twine: ~12"
Tips:
- Stamp then die-cut the basket and word images.
- Punch then emboss the Crumb Cake cardstock. Use a scissors (or the banner punch) to snip the end of the glimmer paper.
- Place a doily (or a portion of a doily) behind the embossed Crumb Cake piece.
- Color in the basket image with the markers, and then assemble the card.
I used the following markers:
- Pumpkin Pie (from the Brights collection)
- Real Red (from the Brights collection)
- Old Olive (from the Brights collection)
- Crushed Curry (from the Regals collection)
- Crumb Cake (from the Neutrals collection)
- Soft Suede (from the Neutrals collection)
- Cucumber Crush (from the 2015-17 In-Color collection)
These can be purchased in collections (as below in the supply list) OR…all at once in the case of Many Marvelous Markers. Either way, it's worth it to collect the markers. Markers can be used to ink up stamps. Just use the side of the brush end to ink up the rubber stamp, use your warm, moist breath and "huff" on the stamp, then press it on your cardstock. You can get lots of ink colors for a lot less than the cost of ink pads. It's how I started out gathering my own collection of colors when I started years ago.
