I didn't make an official video to go with all my project ideas with the May Paper Pumpkin kit this time. I'm feeling pretty sad about it, but being in Europe for almost two weeks made me give up a few things, and the video of all my alternate ideas was one of them. I took lots of photos of today's projects to help you see how I made them, though.
Here is a photo of what the kit directions instruct you to make.
But here are my ideas I have for you today. (I also shared some other "out of the box" ideas on April 19th and June 8th. Click on these dates to see what I shared.) The extra supplies I used (besides the contents of the May 2016 Many Manly Occasions Paper Pumpkin kit) are listed below each project.
If you are viewing this the day I posted (6/10/16) and you have not ever tried Paper Pumpkin kits before, then click here to see an awesome 75% off June kit special for new subscribers.
3-D Spiral Flower Accented Container #1
This project requires a few extra supplies but the flower itself only requires a scissors, a curling tool (I used a bone folder, but the back of a butter knife or a pencil or dowel work too) and some strong glue such as hot glue.
First I cut a wavy-edged spiral.
I curled it as shown to help it wrap into a tight spiral. Then I attached a glue dot to the outside of the inner part of the spiral so the inner most part of the flower would stay in place during the hot gluing step.
I added hot glue to the base (the inner part of the spiral) and held in a flower shape while the glue cooled. (The Silicone Mat is a great tool to use with hot glue projects. The glue won't stick, and clean up is super easy.)
After my flower was made, I took some green paper (I used Cucumber Crush) and tore out a few leaf shapes.
I created a label to decorate my treat package using the supplies in the kit and some sparkly paper (I used a piece of glimmer paper). I stamped a message and assembled.
Glue dots come in the kit, but I found that the Glue Dots that Stampin' Up! has in the online store are a little thicker and held better for this 3-D flower and when attaching the laser-cut piece to the glimmer paper.

3-D Spiral Flower Accented Container #2
For this project I filled a skinny tall glass jar (capers originally came in it) with candy and added the same flower as above by hot-gluing it to the lid.
I used the Early Espresso color from the Neutrals set of markers to ink & stamp the word "eat" and again the words "and eat."
The whole thing reminds me of something from the 60's. LOL

12×12 Easy Scrapbook Pages (with a "Paper Tole" Title)
This is a super simple layout this month. And I have to say I'm pretty proud of myself for only bringing in a couple extra supplies – the base 12×12 cardstock, rhinestones, and some tools.
From the kit I used 4 envelopes, two cards, two "HAPPY" stickers, and some stars. The photo mats are just the back half of the cards and the sealed envelopes.
"Happy" is a great general title for a scrapbook page, so I didn't add any other words.
Doing some simple paper tolling, I made gave the title a little more dimension.
And I accented with stars and rhinestones.

Another Version of my original "Star" Card
Back in mid-April after getting some sneak peek sample pieces from this kit at Stampin' Up!'s OnStage event in Salt Lake City, I created the card on the left and shared how to make it in this video. Then when the kits were delivered in mid-May I soon realized that the sheets for the Happy stickers weren't the same as how we received them at OnStage. My card would not be easy to duplicate.
So I came up with another version…
I used the bottom sticker and carefully sliced and cut to separate this bottom sticker from the rest of the sheet.
Be sure to watch the video to see how I created the remainder of the card.

Copper Accented Card
This last card was a fun one to make. I thought it would be fun to try out a different background paper. And colors from this sheet (copper & Crumb Cake) and the added cardstock (Early Espresso) go so perfectly well with the blue in the kit (Pool Party)!

I'm still completing another project…a Project Life layout. So I'm not done with the kit yet. But I wanted to share these today since it's the 10th of the month…the last day to get started with Paper Pumpkin (or reactivate your account) so you don't miss out on the June kit.
And even if you don't get these kits (or don't intend to), I hope these project ideas sparked some thoughts for how to used products you already have on hand. Thanks for stopping by today!
