I just returned from the Stampin' Up! OnStage Local event held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin this past weekend where the upcoming new Sale-A-Bration and 2016 Occasions Catalog products were unveiled to us from the Live OnStage event in Brussels Belgium. It was a blast! I can't share all my photos (those with gifts, prizes, NEW PRODUCT SNEAK PEEKS, etc.) until 10 PM Mountain Time tonight. Come back and visit!
So this morning, I am sharing a fun gift packaging idea I put together with our super popular Sleigh Ride Edgelits and Sketched Dots Tag-A-Bag Gift Bags. I was inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest by Paula Dobson. Click here to see it. Thanks, Paula!
This ornament accent is super simple to make. Here is a list of the supplies I used. And below that are the directions.
Supplies:
- Stamps: –
- Paper :
- 121044 Basic Gray (2-3/4” x 2-3/4” scrap)
- 121024 Basic Black (2-3/4” x 2-3/4” scrap)
- 133678 Hello Honey (about 6 tiny 1/8” x ½” scraps)
- 135315 Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper (2-3/4” x 2-3/4” scrap)
- Ink : –
- Other : 138316 Sketched Dots Tag a Bag Gift Bags, 132137 Silver 1/8” Ribbon, 139670 Sleigh Ride Edgelits Dies, 120906 2-1/2” Circle Punch, 104332 SNAIL Adhesive, 103683 Glue Dots
Instructions:
- Punch out one large circle from the Basic Black, Basic Gray, and Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer paper.
- Die-cut the horse and sleigh from the lower portion of the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer circle and die-cut the houses from the upper portion of the Basic Gray circle.
- Flip the Basic Gray piece over and add SNAIL adhesive just below all the houses. Then attach the narrow Hello Honey strips so the color shows through the windows on the front side.
- Layer all three ornament pieces together and attach to the front of the bag.
- Add a straight piece of ribbon from the top of the ornament to the top of the bag. You may need about 3-4 inches. (A tip for adding the SNAIL adhesive to the back of the narrow ribbon…fold your ribbon so you have the back side of the bottom half next to the back side of the top half. Then add the SNAIL to both back sides at the same time.)
- Tie about 5-6” of additional ribbon into a bow and attach with a glue dot.
- Add a gift (wrapped in tissue paper so it stays hidden in this glassine bag), and let the merriment of Christmas begin!
Remember to stop back for my next blog post when I'll share photos from the Milwaukee OnStage event.

Love this bag! The tip about adding SNAIL to ribbon is great. Thanks.
great idea! I found using the fringe scissors on the yellow papers makes the perfect size to fit behind the windows (-:
Ahhh…yes! Another excuse to get that fringe scissors.
