I really appreciate all the help you've given the past couple weeks, Mom and Dad!
I wasn't sure if I would be able to get my work (including stamping 82 swap cards) done if I took my boys up to the cabin (my parents' home) over Memorial Day weekend. But my mom & dad set up a special table just for me, my computer and my crafting supplies. They emailed me this photo and assured me I would have the time and work space I needed.
I went back and forth on the idea of going, but decided I needed a vacation, too. So we went "all out!" The boys each had a friend stay over at our house Friday night (kicked off the weekend with a sleepover), and then Saturday morning we left for the lake bringing one of the two friends (Joshua) along with us.
We went swimming. Well…I didn't. The water was COLD! But I sat on the dock and took photos.
We ate good food. Waffles at the cabin are the best!
We went on boat rides. (This was Joshua's first!)
We created.
And we spent time with cousins.
Oh! AND I even got LOTS of stuff done. 🙂
Then panic mode set in again last weekend.
I wasn't sure if we'd be able to pull off getting all our things priced and ready for our major garage sale (which is actually going on right now), but my parents came to stay with us for a couple nights. My mom helped price everything, my dad helped my hubby with selecting and setting up our new tent/canopy (a very worth-while investment), they both helped with the first (and busiest) day of the sale – totaling sales, moving tables & boxes, etc.,
Plus! The boys got to spend time with Grandma and Grandpa again.
I'm feeling pretty lucky to have the parents I have.
How nice of them to do that for you! I especially love that they send you the picture of your work area just to reassure you. And how lovely of you to send out this thank you to them. I’ve lost both my parents years ago, but I think of them both every day.
Hope your garage sale was a huge success! It always feels good to get rid of all that excess “stuff”. I’m noticing the clever way you used to hang your clothes…good thinking!
How nice of your parents to be so thoughtful and helpful to you!
I am glad you were able to go away for a couple days. Be thankful
and good to your parents as long as you have them–you won’t be
sorry. Besides think of all the memories you are making, especially
for the boys.
Thank you, Kim. (Yes, them sending that photo helped tremendously.)
Hugs, Margie. Memories for the boys – absolutely!
