Not sure if it's because he was born in October, because his "nick" name was Pumpkin when he was younger, because he loves pumpkin pie, because he's a self-motivated, determined child, or because we've encouraged him every Halloween. (Maybe it's ALL the above?) But what we DO know is that we have a very talented pumpkin carver in our house! He even likes to deal with the pulp.
