Thank you for waiting until today (Monday) for my flower card that I had originally promised to share Saturday. My neice arrived late on Thursday last week, so my weekend was pretty focused on family. Look at this sweetheart! Yvette Lucille Tessman, you are so loved already, and you are only a few days old! Bob and Micala, we are all so excited that you brought this angel into our world!
Life is good. And I am very grateful.
I am also super excited lately because I'll be taking my husband to Hawaii in just 9 months! And it's starting to "hit" me that the trip is not that far off!
Here's a card I made that makes me dream about our upcoming free trip for two that I earned thanks to my awesome downline and fabulous customers. (I love my job!)
And here's the process I used to make it…
(All supplies are listed at the bottom of this post and linked to my online store.)
I took a 4-1/4" x 11" Coastal Cabana card base, folded it in half, and trimmed out a rectangular window in the front so I had a one-inch border all the way around.
Then I cut more card stock (same color) with the Striped Scallop Thinlits Die. Wax paper placed between the die and the card stock allowed for ease in separation after die-cutting.
(Check out the stack of Paper Pumpkin boxes in this photo below! Hehehe – Excited to start creating with my August kit soon!)
I removed the card stock and wax paper from the die using my stylus tool. You can use a more "pokey" tool instead (like the Paper Piercer), but just be sure not to poke holes in your paper.
I attached this die-cut paper to the inside of the card front using the 2-Way Glue Pen.
I then stamped some flowers from the Beautiful Bunch Stamp Set onto Whisper White card stock and cut them out with the coordinating Fun Flower punch. I stamped one flower with Daffodil Delight ink, one with Strawberry Slush ink, and some on the inside of the card with Coastal Cabana ink.
Notice that I have two shades of yellow ink in this flower. That's because I "stamped off" some ink when stamping the large solid flower stamp. "Stamping off" is the process of stamping color onto scratch paper first…then without reinking, stamping the image onto the card stock to get a lighter shade. Some call this process "Second Generation" stamping.
I used a Bone Folder to curl the petals.
I attached these two flowers to the front of the card using a couple Dimensionals being sure not to have any Dimensionals in the "window" area of the card front.
I attached a piece of 4" x 5-1/4" Vellum to the inside of the card using glue dots that were strategically placed in the center of the stamped flowers.
Then I attached Frosted Sequins on top of the vellum over the center of the flowers to cover up the glue dots holding the vellum in place.
The card sparkles!
Finally I stamped "thinking of you" and added more Frosted Sequins to the front of the card.

Darn it, Rachel! Now I NEED that die!
LOL…Sorry? š
