Yesterday I shared a couple cards that were related in design to another I had posted on Wednesday.
Today's card was the one I came up with for my June Stamp Camp "technique" card. It features a "faux suede" layer of card stock (the Crumb Cake layer).
Here's what I did to create the "faux suede" look…
I used my Bone Folder and curled the card stock. I curled it and curled it and then flipped it over and curled it again and again.
The goal is to break the fibers in the card stock.
Eventually the corners start to separate.
I carefully pulled at the corners and tore my card stock into two layers.
There are other ways to separate the layers, but this one works well in a class setting. You can get the card stock damp to make it weaker. But then you'll need to wait for it to dry before you assemble your card.
Supply list for today's card:
