Happy 4th of July everyone!
On Monday,Tuesday (in video and photos), Wednesday, and Thursday I shared with you several ideas/projects that I made using the June 2014 My Paper Pumpkin Kit: Pinwheel Party. Today I want to share close-up photos of my sailboat scrapbook pages including images that show how to make the adorable sailboat.
The details on how to make these pages are in my video: My Paper Pumpkin June 2014 Pinwheel Party Kit – A Bazillion Alternate Ideas. But below is a recap of the more detailed parts of the pages.
For the waves, cut your Marina Mist card stock into three strips: 1-1/2" x 12",…
…2" x 12",…
…and 2-1/2" x 12".
Score the wave designs into the edges of each strip using the Borders Scoring Plate.
Add them to your 12×12 Whisper White page – largest in the back attached with SNAIL adhesive, and the other two added on top with Dimensionals so they pop off the page. Then add the two sailboats!
The boat in the front is attached with Dimensionals.
This boat pattern was totally inspired by Susan Campfield's adorable boat card. Thanks, Susan!
To make the boat, cut your pinwheel paper into 4 pieces (just continue the diagonal cuts that are already in the paper). For one of the 4 triangles, cut off the wide base 1/2 of an inch in. With another, cut off the wide base 1 inch in. (The two other trianges can be used for a second boat!)
The 1/2" piece isn't used for the boat and can be discarded or used somewhere else. The remaining three pieces get assembled as shown.
If you make the boat from all three paper designs…
…you can mix and match AND…
…flip them over to get other patterns, too!
The boat I used in the upper left corner of the left page is slightly smaller. I just trimmed one of the sailboats down a little.
Then I popped it off the page with Dimensionals.
Super fun, huh? I can't wait to add photos.
