This week I'll be sharing LOTS of "4th of July" ideas, since here in the US we are all celebrating our country's Independence Day. Today's idea was created with the June My Paper Pumpkin Kit: Pinwheel Party. In fact MANY of the ideas I'll be sharing this week are ones that I've made with that kit. I've been creating during these past few days, and I have made a boat load of projects with this Pinwheel Party kit! And what amazes me is that I have SO MANY items created and yet only just tapped into my second box of supplies. (I get two kits each month.)
PLUS…I was able to record another one of my Paper Pumpkin videos this morning while the boys slept in!! I can't even tell you how happy that makes me! Summer with the boys home makes a quiet house quite rare. Watching the video will give you even more detail on this wreath and other projects I made. So be sure to visit again this week to get inspired in Red, White and Blue!
To make this wreath, just get a hold of a wreath base at the local craft store. I bought this one at JoAnn's using a 40% off coupon, so it only cost me about $7.
I made 12 of the 24 pinwheels that come in the kit and attached them using the prongs of the pinwheel brads. To fill in the extra spaces between the pinwheels, I tied on knots and bows of Whisper White Organza ribbon.
I made tags with some extra card stock and Dimensionals. I simply stamped my letters on Whisper White, punched them out with the 1 Inch Circle Punch, then layered with onto Real Red circles that were punched out with the 1-1/4" Circle Punch.
I strung together the "HAPPY 4TH" tags using 1/8" Silver Ribbon. Then I stuck them to the wreath center with Dimensionals. And now our door is festive!
Remember to visit Tuesday (tomorrow) to see my video! And stop by more days this week to see close up photos of LOTS of 4th of July projects.
