I missed posting yesterday because I am on another crafting retreat and got very caught up in all the mass production of scrapbook pages I had going on. So far since Wednesday afternoon, I have gotten about 26 pages put together! I still need to do some finishing touches on them like journaling, so I will finish that part up today, photograph them, and share them in tomorrow's post. Because I missed posting yesterday and I don't have pics of my finished pages yet, I'm gonna go ahead and share the pics I had intending on sharing yesterday anyway (some "Throwback Thursday" pics).
I am getting excited for the annual Stampin' Up! Convention coming up this July! I haven't missed one since I became a demonstrator back in February of 2000. And I definitely plan on going again this year!! (I just purchased my plane tickets. LOL)
This year Stampin' Up! is doing something new and fabulous!…they are giving away FREE convention "passes" to those demonstrators who are new since July 1, 2013! Even if you have been a demonstrator in the past AND even attended a convention in the past, signing up again now makes you eligible! In other words…any new demonstrator can register for convention this year for FREE! I already have several demonstrators in our group joining me. Do you want to come with us?!
Dates: July 17-19, 2014
Location: Salt Palace Convention Center, Salt Lake City, Utah
Cost: $295 USD (or FREE for those who qualify*)
Here are some pics of the fun we had at Convention 2010 (almost 4 years ago):
We had a "share what you love" theme and kicked off Convention with a 60's party. Yes, that's me in the picture below. I LOVED my blonde wig! And I had fun getting into character.
My group got a little silly and brought our Barbies that year. My mother (who is VERY talented with the sewing machine) made us all little Stampin' Up! aprons for our dolls.
Here I am with my roommate, Erika.
At that time I had been a demonstrator for 10 years. (This year I'll be celebrating my 14th year as a Stampin' Up! demonstrator and it will be my 15th convention! That's right – not ONE missed convention.)
Erika got me on stage that year to participate in a "minute to win it" game show. So a bunch of my girlfriends (downlines, sidelines, uplines, and other fellow demonstrators) secretly got together the night before and made letter signs for cheering me on. What a wonderful surprise!
Even though I didn't make it very far in the game, it was a super fun convention that year.
Every convention holds a special place in my heart. It's truly one of the BEST events!
Join my team today and start making plans now to join us for the mega party of the year: Convention 2014!
Stamp Your Art Out! ~Rachel
*Please note: There is no cash value for free convention registration if you choose not to attend.
