If you are looking for some alternate ways to use your December 2013 "Real Life" My Paper Pumpkin kit* contents, here is what I came up with when I was playing with mine yesterday. I always get two kits mailed to me each month, so the first set of pages shown, the cards and the journal were made with the contents of one kit. And the second set of pages shown and other journal (similar to the one that the kit shows as an idea) are what I made with the second kit.
If you are not a Paper Pumpkin subscriber yet, this is a great time to join…Free Markers! But hurry… time is limited on this offer. When you sign up, please choose me (Rachel Tessman in Andover, MN) as your demonstrator. And I will share fun ideas with you each month and spoil you with random gifts.
These are some of my favorite colors! I think you'll love them, too: Gumball Green, Midnight Muse, Primrose Petals, Raspberry Ripple and Summer Starfruit.
I made this first set of projects with:
- One December 2013 Real Life My Paper Pumpkin kit*
- 2 sheets of Basic Black card stock
- 4 Whisper White note cards
- Rhinestones
- Dimensionals
- SNAIL adhesive
- Glue Dots
- And the Stampin' Trimmer.
I made this second set of projects with:
- My second December 2013 Real Life My Paper Pumpkin kit*
- 2 sheets of Basic Black card stock
- 4 sheets of Whisper White card stock
- Hole-punch tool (I used a Crop-A-Dile™)
- Dimensionals
- SNAIL adhesive
- Glue Dots
- And the Stampin' Trimmer.
(I formed my own letter "s" with the R and an E.)
For this second journal I added 8 extra pages by cutting 8" x 5" pieces from 4 sheets of Whisper White card stock.
I then punched holes in these sheets by lining up one of the already pre-cut sheets atop the 8 Whisper White pieces.
You can see from the photos which sheets went where in my journal. (The pages are still blank, so I didn't think it was necessary to take photos of each spread like I did for the first journal shown above.)
These are the supplies I had left over after making this journal and the 12×12 "Fellas" pages. (Those little wooden people are so fun! Did you notice on my pages I cut the legs down to represent my boys? LOL)

Stamp Your Art Out! ~Rachel
Love your ideas for altering these kits. I am making a journal out of mine for a gift for a friend. That way I can keep the little people for myself! I laughed when you said you cut the legs on them for your sons! I think I will add some plain white pages too to hers. Plus a few more pockets to hold stuff. I might combine some of January’s kit to this too. Thanks for some great ideas.
Thanks, Chris. If you are able to post images of your journal when you complete it, I would love to see it. Send me a link. 😉
Great ideas!!! I’m so thankful these alternatives are still accessible- you know for those of us who are a little behind 😉
Thank you for all you do!!!
2014 isn’t TOOooo long ago. 😉 Glad you were able to get inspiration from what I shared Angela.
