I have had some down time this week (no classes/events), so I've been finding time to do a little personal scrapbooking. And as I look back on family photos and reflect on fun times together and memories we've made, I'm feeling pretty darn grateful.

So today I thought I'd share with you a set of "Truly Grateful" pages we made in October for Scrappin' Sunday. I love this stamp set. It was one of the first items I ordered from the Holiday Catalog because my brother was getting married and I thought the images in this set went so well with their wedding décor.

This layout was inspired by a page that I got in a swap from Georgia Giguere. (Thanks, Georia!) I took elements of her layout such as the banners & the central embellishment and reworked them into a 2-page spread so that I could offer them in a class setting.

The Sweater Weather paper is gorgeous and sets the color scheme for the layout. I also added Crumb Cake 12×12 as my main neutral color because it worked great with the burlap ribbon and gave the pages warmth.

The wider strips of designer paper are really only 6" long. They are cut into two pieces – the piece that peeks above the photo mat and the rest of the banner that hangs below.

The burlap ribbon is pretty thick. So instead of wrapping it over the edge of the card stock, the Naturals Cotton ribbon is wrapped over the end of the burlap to prevent it from fraying.

The linen thread is just tied through the end loop of the safety pin, but you could instead tie the thread then pierce it with the pin to attach it.

So grateful that I have this one more day to get some more personal scrapbooking done before the kiddos get home from school! Anyone else taking the day to get caught up in scrapbooking?
