I am having the time of my life here! The third day was full of excitement for me. We started the day at 7:30 AM with a 90-min. bus ride to Kanab, UT to see Stampin' Up!'s manufacturing plant. Sara Douglass led a group discussion and idea-generating session on the way there.
I made a new friend – France (Frenchie) Martin.
After our warm welcome…
…a few of us went out to the rock to get some fun photos.
It wasn't easy to get up here on the rock, so we decided we needed to do a Charlie's Angels pose to show off our strength. Here I am with Debbie Moczek, France Martin, Tami White and April Lopez.
Then we came back inside to do make 'n' takes…
…and get a tour of where Shelli Gardner's family stayswhen they come visit – "the apartment" which is basically the living quarters on the second level. Here I am with Sara Douglass.
After that, we got into small groups and got a guided tour of the manufacturing area.
They let us take photos, too! I guess that's a new thing this year, so we were all just too excited about that and took SEVERAL photos throughout our tour.
We were able to help out in the step-by-step process of making stamps. here I am cutting the rubber for the plate. After the rubber is heated into the plate, it is cut to separate it.
Then with lots of muscle, the rubber is peeled from the plate and trimmed.
Then we attached it to the foam and got to die-cut it!
After that we were each allowed to assemble a stamp set box.
We then got to see how stamp pads, reinkers and card stock got packaged up.
We even were taught tips on how to attach and detach the pad lid without the risk of getting ink on our hands.
I wanted to go swimming in the Bermuda Bay scraps!!!
All the extra rubber is ground up and donated.
After eating lunch, we got back on the bus to visit Jacob Hamblin Park where this rubber fills the playground area.
I loved it so much, April buried me in it! It was VERY cozy and warm!
Yea! The Minnesota gals – Dawn Olchefske, Terri Gaines, Georgia Guigure, me and Kay Kalthoff.
Julie Davison and I are looking for stamp images we might recognize.
We ended the tour by going to Denny's Wigwam, a Kanab tourist spot.
Later that evening we went to see Mary Poppin's, a theatrical performance at the Tuacahn Outdoor Theatre. It was a fabulous show!
Look at all the goodies we got at the end of Day 3! (Inside the burlab bag was a pair of Craft Scissors!) Holy cow! They are spoiling us!!
