Today I thought I'd share with you how I organize my stamp sets.
Stampin' Up!'s wood-mount stamp sets come with a label sheet. On that sheet are all the decal images for your stamps. But on the edge of the label sheet is also the name of the stamp set. I trim this off and attach it to the right side, "narrow end" of my stamp set box. This way when I stack my sets I can easily see which set is which. The clear-mount stamp set cases already come labeled. You can identify which ones are which when they are stacked or set up side-by-side like books on a shelf.
When I sort them on my shelves, I have four sections.
I have maybe 20 more stamp sets in my office. The ones from the current seasonal catalog I store on a separate shelf since those sets are only available for a limited time. The ones that are 'dormant' from a past seasonal catalog are stored away on another shelf just in case they end up in the next main catalog. And then I have a few retired sets that I just can't let go.
I don't have as many as you may think, right?
Well… there are more. But when a stamp set retires, it's off to the basement storage bins to await my 'garage sales.' I've hung on to favorites along the years, but I find that as a business-oriented demonstrator I typically only use current merchandise.
I'll be having my Summer Garage Sale (which includes many of my customer's and demonstrator's stamp sets and crafting merchandise as well) this year on June 5th, 6th and 8th. Mark your calendars if you are looking for some great deals. If you live close by, you'll have to stop in.
If you'd like to shop earlier this year for some great savings, come to my Spring Cleaning Sale on April 13th. Leave a comment or email me if you'd like to be added to my mailing list and receive more detailed information about this sale and/or other events coming up.
Hope these ideas for organizing your stamp sets helps you out in some way.
